2016

Uncensored DC is an annual Banned Books Week fundraiser celebrating the freedom to read, create and express.

The 2016 theme was "diversity" and the DC Public Library (DCPL) commissioned me to create a public art banner for the Martin Luther King Memorial Library located in downtown DC.

I developed a whole series of digital collage artworks around the Banned Books theme as it relates to our current political state.

In this series, I juxtapose my favorite quotes and excerpts from literary masterpieces to TV color test screens and iconic archival images. These digital collages are visual interpretations that critique the impact of information sources and subjectivity while contemplating on the imaginative freedom of literature.
