How I Got Over debuts new paintings and collages examining shape and color in relation to the phases of trauma recovery. This body of work visualizes what is means to become "whole" again while addressing the parallels between trauma recovery and painting as time based processes.

The week will culminate with UNCENSORED: The Cocktail Party- an annual fundraising event hosted by the DC Public Library Foundation on Friday, September 30 in the Great Hall of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.
